Took me 2 weeks, but my WhatsApp AI agent finally replied 🎉
Just got the first end-to-end reply from a WhatsApp AI agent I'm building in n8n, and I'm way too happy not to share. What I'm building: a hotel booking assistant on WhatsApp. A guest messages, and the agent (Gemini + n8n) is meant to handle new bookings, lookups and reschedules using Google Sheets. Today the greeting reply came through, and the rest of the flows are still to be tested. Why it took 2 weeks (in case you're stuck too): - The trigger showed no executions at all, even though the webhook was verified. - Subscribing to the messages field wasn't enough. I also had to subscribe my WhatsApp Business Account to the app via the subscribed_apps call. - Meta allows only one webhook subscription per app, so n8n refused to run my new trigger until I deleted the old one. - Testing a trigger node on its own only runs that one node. Run the whole workflow (or pin the trigger data) to see the full flow. Next up: publishing it and testing the booking flows end to end. If you're building WhatsApp automations, what's been your biggest roadblock?

Nice work! Getting that first end-to-end reply after fighting with Meta webhooks is a huge milestone. Those little integration issues can take hours to figure out, so sharing what you learned will definitely help others.

Hey Guys, What should be the next?

@Bharti Kaith That’s solid progress! Since you’re focused on hotels and small businesses, I’d build an automated lead follow-up + qualification system next. It directly connects to bookings and revenue, so it’s easier to demonstrate the ROI to clients.

@Bharti Kaith You're welcome. Best of luck.
Built a Post-Stay Review + Repeat Guest automation for hotels 🏨
The problem: guests check out and nobody follows up. No thank-you, no review request, no reason to come back. So I built an n8n workflow that handles it automatically: ✅ Every morning it reads the hotel's bookings sheet ✅ Finds guests who checked out yesterday ✅ Skips cancelled bookings and anyone already messaged ✅ Sends a friendly WhatsApp message with a thank-you, a Google review link and an offer for their next stay ✅ Marks the booking as "Review Sent" so no one gets the same message twice Why it matters for a hotel: - More Google reviews, because guests are asked at the right moment - More repeat bookings, thanks to the next-stay offer - Zero manual work for the staff Stack: n8n + Google Sheets + WhatsApp Cloud API. I've run the full workflow end to end and it works. If you run a hotel or build for hotels, what follow-up would you automate after check-out?

@Bharti Kaith Exactly! Small automations like this can have a real impact when they’re tied directly to revenue and customer retention.

Built an AI-powered WhatsApp Clinic Receptionist & Appointment Management System for a fictional eye surgery center.
This one was a pretty big build because I wanted to go beyond a simple chatbot and connect multiple workflows into one complete system. 💬 Patient WhatsApp Receptionist The receptionist can handle: • English + Urdu conversations • Appointment booking • Appointment cancellation • Appointment rescheduling • Doctor information • Clinic services • Branch information • Emergency cases • Human support escalation 📅 Appointment Automation I also built the backend logic for: • Doctor schedules • Appointment slot generation • Availability checking • Booking slots • Cancelling appointments • Reopening cancelled slots • Blocking unavailable dates/times • Keeping booked slots protected from automatic blocking 📊 Daily Reporting The system also generates a daily operational report containing: • Total conversations • Unique patients • Appointment requests • Pending confirmations • Escalations • Emergency cases • Pending staff responses • System errors • Open errors All of this is combined into a plain-text summary and automatically sent by email. 🛠️ Stack n8n WhatsApp Business Cloud PostgreSQL JavaScript AI/LLM Email automation This project gave me a lot of hands-on practice with multi-workflow architecture, database logic, API integrations, conditional logic, appointment systems, and error handling. Would love to hear what you guys think. #n8n #AIAutomation #Automation #WhatsAppAutomation #WorkflowAutomation

This is a seriously solid build! Going beyond the receptionist and connecting appointments, emergency handling, reporting, and database logic makes it feel much closer to a real production system. Great work!

@Sidra Safdar Exactly! That’s what makes it feel like a real system rather than just a chatbot. Connecting all those pieces is where the real value comes in.
Heading ahead with more builds!
After weeks of searching to get a service to host my Google Events Scheduling Agent, cause Oracle was just hitting me back with no space and n8n cloud server seemed too costly, I thought to go ahead. So, Recently covered the "Telegram Receipt Analysis Assistant" - Deterministic approach used by LLMs - Feeding data from custom GPT to Relevance (prompt generator tool) - How to feed data for different fields - Using AI Builder for creating Automation tool/worflow with N8N Cloud, different than the traditional method - Use cases of Google Workspace and GCP - Debugging with AI suggestions Going ahead to explore in this space!

Nice progress! I like that you’re experimenting with different approaches instead of getting stuck on the hosting issue. The Telegram receipt assistant sounds like a useful build, and there’s a lot to learn from projects like this.

@Daksh Makhija Exactly! Keeping the momentum going and continuing to build while solving the hosting issue is the right approach. Every new build adds another layer of experience.
