She was ready to give up on a business that was already making money. She was working constantly, feeling burned out and convinced she had very little to show for it. Then she looked at the actual numbers. The business wasn’t failing. She had been underestimating what it was producing and hadn’t separated revenue, expenses and the money available to pay herself. That second set of eyes didn’t magically change her bank account. It changed the story she was telling herself about her business. 🗝️ Try this: Pull your last three months of statements and write down only three numbers: - Money that came in - Business expenses that went out - Money that reached you personally That ten-minute check will show you whether you need more sales, better pricing, lower expenses or a better plan for the money you’re already making. Which number is hardest for you to answer right now? And if you discovered your business was making more than you thought, what would you want that money to do next?

Sometimes what feels like peace is actually apathy. We can reach a place in our marriage where we’re no longer fighting for intimacy, no longer feeling particularly upset about the distance and no longer expecting anything to change. The struggle seems to have settled. And that can feel like healing. But there’s an important question worth sitting with Holy Spirit about. Has something actually healed or have we simply stopped wanting what we once longed for? That’s the distinction we’re exploring in today’s Quiet Time inside KINGDOM IDENTITY NETWORK. Our focus today is 𝘚𝘦𝘹𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘈𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘺, with a reflection inspired by Ephesians 5:31 and God’s beautiful design for a husband and wife to lovingly hold one another close. One of the things I love most about this work is that we don’t have to assume that every uncomfortable emotion means there’s something deep to heal. We can begin by noticing what’s actually happening today. Perhaps Holy Spirit shows us that something which once caused resistance no longer affects us the same way. That’s worth celebrating! ❤️ But perhaps He shows us that we’ve become comfortable with distance because we’ve stopped hoping for closeness. That’s worth paying attention to, too. Awareness is where we begin. But awareness alone doesn’t always change how we respond. That’s why our Savah Method includes resistance work. We partner with Holy Spirit to recognize the emotional resistance that’s showing up in our lives today, learn to manage what we’re feeling in our bodies and work toward removing the resistance that’s standing between us and the blessing He wants us to experience. That question can feel impossible to answer when the reaction happens before we’ve even had time to think. Someone questions a decision and suddenly we’re three sentences into explaining why we made it. A team member sends a short reply and our fingers are already typing a much longer one to make sure they understand exactly what we meant. Someone disagrees with an idea we were excited about and we can feel ourselves pulling back from it before we’ve even decided whether their opinion matters. A conversation takes an unexpected turn and suddenly we’re defending something nobody actually asked us to defend. Then, five minutes later… Why did that bother me so much? Why did I feel like I had to explain myself? Why do I keep reacting this way? Those are interesting questions because a reaction isn’t an identity. The ways we learned to respond to life can follow us into our relationships, leadership and businesses without changing who God created us to be. So maybe the first step toward responding differently isn’t trying harder to control ourselves the next time it happens. Maybe it’s noticing the moment our reaction became bigger than the moment in front of us and getting curious about what just surfaced. That reaction can give us information. Something got touched. Something worth paying attention to. Something we can bring to Holy Spirit and ask what He wants us to see there, rather than allowing that reaction to tell us who we are. That distinction has become incredibly important to me: What happened along the way can affect how we respond without changing who God created us to be.
