Hearts for Healthcare
This may absolutely have already been posted but I gave them away today so it brought all the excitement for them back again. πŸ˜‚ I've been dealing with the same non healing wound in my breast since May of 2023. This year after surgery 2 I decided I wanted to make something for the people I was spending an hour with every week. The Breast Center received the first round and The Wound Care Center got theirs today. πŸ’œ I didn't get to see the rest of The Wound Care Center's reactions but the front desk lady's was everything. I think the front desk people don't get enough credit for being the first face we see when we come in, sometimes the first to say "hello" to us in the morning, the one to keep everything organized and rolling. Just thanking them seems to make their day everytime. 😊 Each heart was made especially to suit each person's personality. β€’ The ladybug heart is for the front desk lady, Gina. She is a breath of fresh air to talk to each and everytime I walk in the door. β€’ The black with colorful flowers is for Kelly (I wasn't sure how to spell her name and as someone who has a hard name to spell, I didn't want her to cringe everytime she saw it spelled wrong πŸ˜‚). She is a bright light in a dark place. She seriously gives vibes like she should work at a daycare or a pool or just anywhere you can imagine happy people would be. But instead she works dealing with wounded people who are tired and I can bet did not want to be there today. She makes The Wound Care Center a happier place to be. β€’ The purple heart is for Amy. Purple reads to me as soft, love and trusting. And that's what she is! β€’ The last two are for Jonnie and Lisa. Those two saw me from the start to where we are now. I wanted to make something for them that reminded them of me. I got married during the time of seeing them and had been folding origami cranes for my reception. Everytime I came in they would ask how many I had; I believe the final total was about 700 and I ended up with probably 100 more than I needed! I matched their colors to their personalities and what I thought they would pick.

An embroidery workshop and selling at craft market
I held an embroidery workshop for the first time yesterday. It was fun and the participants really enjoyed embroidery. When they got home, they got to do the embroidery pattern that I designed and drew for them. And today tried selling at my friend's stand at the craft market..I made some pins and key chain from upcycled fabrics and wool felts. I had a fun and busy weekend. My birthday was on Friday, so this is a fun way celebrating my birthday πŸ˜ŒπŸ˜‰πŸ₯³

@Mimi Hana Threads sorry I haven't opened this for a long time! There were 10 people. I just taught the basic stitches and gave them the pattern I drew on fabric for them to do at home. It was their first time. They enjoyed the workshop. It was 2 hours workshop. The workshop preparation was more tiring! I'll try one more time next month.

@LeAnn Sagel thank you πŸ₯°! Sorry for super delayed response!
My first attempt at a visible mending!
I loved these shorts but the holes kept getting larger and larger. The white was supposed to be flowers but for some reason I'm seeing stars or fireworks? πŸ˜… either way, 4th of July is right around the corner so they seem appropriate. πŸ˜‚ πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡² This was also my first attempt at using a hoop. I think it worked out pretty well! Should have them complete tonight and will have pictures in the morning. 😊

My embroidery workshop
I'm going to give an embroidery workshop next week in a workshop space here in San Francisco. It's my first workshop and we'll be making a mini embroidery hoop. I'm excited to do this. The ticket is almost sold out 🀞🀩
