Weekends over 40 :)
Weekends and holidays can be especially tough, so don’t beat yourself up over a misstep. At the same time, don’t let a slip turn into an excuse to stay off track. Both things can be true.
OMAD has been the strictest approach I’ve tried, but it’s forced me to be far more intentional about what I eat. One of the biggest surprises has been my energy. It’s not a spike or a crash, just steady, usable energy throughout the day.
The mental clarity part caught me off guard. I honestly didn’t buy into all the comments I’d read about it, but I’m experiencing it. Is it fewer insulin spikes? Is it not thinking about food all day? Probably a mix of both. What it has definitely done is push me to be more thoughtful about planning my one meal and figuring out how that fits with my family’s eating habits so this is actually sustainable.
All of that to say, this is a real journey. It’s not a one month diet experiment. The goal is habits you can live with long term.
