Scapular retraction means pulling your shoulder blades back and together toward your spine like trying to pinch a pencil between them.
Why it matters:
Better posture
Shoulder stability
Improved pulling strength
Injury prevention
Exercises that use scapular retraction:
Face Pulls
Seated Rows
Bent-Over Rows
Scapula Pull-Ups (only shoulder blade movement)
Wall Angels
Resistance Band Pull-Aparts
Prone Y-T-W Holds
But it’s also for other exercises good and it helped me a lot recently to focus on this 💪🏼
