finally dons his chainmail ⚡
Some of you eagle-eyed Knights noticed something curious…
“Why did Ankhara Akeru, Stormweaver of Reality, head into battle without chainmail?”
A fair question. Here’s the truth — and it’s very on-brand for him.
🌀 The Backstory
Before the last quest began, Ankhara made a deliberate choice.
The Storm had been restless.
Too much metal too close to his core caused the lightning to arc unpredictably — frying camp kettles, setting fire to maps, and once accidentally awakening a goat that still refuses to forgive him.
So he travelled light.
No chainmail.
No helmet.
Just raw awareness, grit, and a willingness to adapt on the fly.
The plan was simple:
move fast, read the field, let the Storm teach the lesson.
And it worked… until it didn’t.
⚡ The Turning Point
Mid-quest, Ankhara learned the hard way that wisdom without protection eventually becomes exhaustion.
Energy leaked.
Momentum frayed.
The Storm began to outrun the vessel.
That’s when the Earth Horse stepped in.
Grounded. Patient. Unyielding.
The message was clear:
“You don’t tame power by carrying less.
You stabilise it by carrying right”
🛡️ The Upgrade
So the chainmail was forged — not as armour of fear, but as armour of integration.
Each ring anchors lightning. Each plate reminds him to pause before unleashing. The helmet doesn’t mute vision — it focuses it.
Storm within.
Earth around.
Knight aligned.
📜 Moral of the tale
Sometimes we outgrow our old gear. Sometimes we mistake vulnerability for virtue. And sometimes… it’s just time to upgrade the kit before the next quest begins.
