Making CRM Contacts your own
Looking to @Josh Staab to dive in here, so starting a thread on ways to extend your use of contacts. My starting point is: - I want to track what groups, orgs, or associations my contacts are also a part of -- I go to a number of different networking, faith or social groups and seeing who is also in each is helpful -- my initial thought is to use tags for this (found near the top of the contact detail panel, its a list you create to share across contacts) - I want to track when I connect one contact to another, or refer one to another -- my thought is to create an Association for this (little widget on the right side of contact details) -- is there a better way? Ideally I could add a note (why I connected them) and date to each association - I am using Notes to record conversations I have had, so it's my running "what I know about this person" -- I'd love to print the list of notes in one doc, is that possible? That's my start, please add your questions, ideas, suggestions
A very present help
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." — Psalm 46:1 (RSV-CE) When everything shakes, God doesn't. I picked this one because of what today is. September 11 is a reminder of how fast an ordinary morning can change, and most of us carry smaller versions of that lesson from our own lives and businesses. You just never know what is around the corner for your business, from a bad inspection to a lost client, a change in the market, etc. Literally endless threats. I think reminding ourselves of Psalm 46 is perfect for those moments. Read the next verse: "Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea." The psalmist isn't pretending trouble won't come, but rather, telling you where to stand when it does. And take notice of the wording: a very present help, as opposed to a distant metaphysical one. Not one who shows up after the dust settles, but one who is actually present in the trouble, while it's still ...trouble. One more thing worth knowing: the famous line "Be still, and know that I am God" comes from this same psalm, just a few verses down. And what we're being told is not that the shaking is going to stop, but that there is a much (MUCH) greater force steadying you in the midst of all of the shaking. So today, I hope you'll stop and pray for the families who are still shaking and suffering from their losses brought about on September 11th, 2001. Take stock of what's shaking in your own world, and remember where your footing true footing should be. Steadily, firmly, grounded in the presence of the Lord.

My Grand Opening!!
I have been so, so busy preparing for this moment, and it went by so fast! I'm so thankful for the opportunity God has given me to be His arm extended in my community. We did a collaboration with our new local gym to have a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting ceremony. The day was full of so many good memories that I will cherish forever. God is so good!!
My Grand Opening!!
Phase II Starts Thursday!
Hello everyone, I'm excited to be kicking off Phase II of the cohort this Thursday. This is the Alignment phase. The purpose of this phase is to begin aligning the culture of the business with your personal Aspiration. Topics we will cover include: -Why culture matters and how it impacts all aspects of your business -What a well-formed mission statement looks like -How to use a mission statement for more than just wall art -What core values mean to a business -How to "discover" your core values -What to do with them when you have them -What changes in a business when it aligns with the founder's Aspiration as well as what changes for the founder This module will be organized similarly to the first module we did together on Aspiration, but without the orientation component. So we will spend the entire hour+ on teaching the phase. In order to prepare: -Complete your Aspiration work, and have your pillars and Aspiration statement close by -Have something to write with in case our pace allows for working sessions during the meeting. This is not always the case! -Hopefully you can find a place where you can focus Keep in mind, that everywhere we go from here is downstream of this work, so it's important!! You want to put real thought into this. The workbook for this section is robust, and you'll want to use the whole month to try to get this right before we move on to Architecture. That said, if you get any of it wrong, just change it when you realize that you are not in alignment. Really excited for this one! Thank you, Arthur, Arthur P.S. If you didn't notice, @Alanna Casey opened her doors! Congratulations to her!!
Getting Ready for September
Been an interesting week or so for me. Wanted to share a couple things with the group. Been trying to practice having a bias towards action as Arthur likes to say. Separated my financials and have separate business accounts now. Setup is done on that, just gotta move somethings around. Took a couple of workflows and checklists that live in my head and put them down as simple 1 sheet checklists. Helped free-up mental space and add some low friction satisfaction to working on things. Dont have to keep remembering/asking myself "what stage am I at with x design and production?" Trying to stack easy wins that add value to my flows and operations. Had a couple real low days but still needed to produce some content for my next 9/9/26 drop. In full transparency went from barely not even getting out of bed that morning to (imo) making one of my best promos to date. Just made myself setup my tripid and did one action at a time. God gave me an extra measure of grace that day 100% .. after an hour I was back to my normal self and cranking away with ideas and editing. Ended up coming across an incredible deal for an Embroidery machine and extra equipment on FB marketplace. Its been a learning curve to try and calibrate (giving me PTSD from what I went through learning about my 3d printers). If anyone has experience with embroidery Id love to get some tips from you. Did make myself do a fun thing last weekend and went paddleboarding for a few hours. Glad I did, really needed that - first time really being out in a whike since I was sick for so long. Talked to a local business I frequent to see if theyd be interested in a collaboration. They liked the couple ideas I had. Will be following up on this over the next two weeks to try and lockin for my Oct or Nov drops. Biggest pain point right now is to make sure Im not taking on too much at once, but I have been better about prioritizing my time. Also focusing more towards MVPs instead of making everything perfect.
